Dr Ian Wilding has over 20 years experience as a pharmaceutical scientist and entrepreneur in the bioscience community. Prior to the formation of his own consultancy business, Ian was the principal founder of Pharmaceutical Profiles, a company specializing in early phase clinical trials for the pharmaceutical industry. In 2005 Ian received the prestigious Controlled Release Society "Career Achievement Award in Oral Drug Delivery" and he has over 250 publication /abstracts predominately in the area of oral drug development. Ian also has a strong regulatory background having served as an expert scientist for several years with Office of Clinical Pharmacology and Biopharmaceutics at the FDA. He is recognized globally as an innovator in early drug development and is in significant demand as a consultant to Pharma/Biotech companies for his provision of scientific and commercial solutions to problem issues in early drug development.

Paul Titley

A chemist by training, with 30 years of experience in the development and manufacture of pharmaceuticals. Paul joined Wellcome to work extensively on projects in Industrial Pharmacy in the Pharmaceutical Development Laboratory. During this time Paul helped set up pharmaceutical manufacturing at Wellcome plants in Africa and South America. He left Wellcome in 1996 to join Quintiles as Senior Director, Business Development in Scotland, staying north of the border in 2002 as General Manager of Encap Drug Delivery. He is a founder director of R5.

Ian Lafferty

Ian was Manufacturing Director for six years at Nova Laboratories (specialising in sterile product development and manufacture) immediately prior to him joining R5. He has always worked in dosage form development and has considerable experience across most dosage forms during positions with West, AZ and MSD. He completed his PhD at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, DeMonford University, UK.

Janette Waterhouse

Chief Operations Officer
An analytical chemist by training, Janette has worked as an Executive Director in the contract analytical business for both Quintiles, Edinburgh and Cardinal Healthcare. She successfully created and grew the Pharmaceutical Analysis department at Quintiles to over 100 staff in five years. Janette has also conducted transfers and lab audits worldwide as the Analytical International Technical Executive at Glaxowellcome, designing new labs internationally. More recently Janette has been working as a consultant with an Eastern European pharmaceutical company co-ordinating their analytical transfers. She is a founder director of R5.

Glenn Crocker
Dr Glenn Crocker D Phil, ACA
Non Executive Finance Director
Glenn Crocker has a first degree in Genetics from The University of Nottingham and a D.Phil in Immunology from Oxford University. Following a period of post-doctoral research, Glenn joined Ernst & Young and qualified as a chartered accountant. He then spent several years in Palo Alto, Ca. as part of Ernst & Young’s biotech practice working with companies at varying stages of development. In 1999, he returned to England to head up E&Y’s UK biotechnology practice, based in Cambridge. Here he developed a team providing advice and support to emerging bioscience companies in areas such as business plan development, strategic advice, fundraising, mergers and acquisitions and IPOs. Since June 2003, Glenn has been Chief Executive of BioCity Nottingham Ltd., a company focused on providing support and infrastructure to companies in the emerging bioscience industry in the East Midlands.
