Oral products
Oral pharmaceutical products remain the most common form of pharmaceutical to enable the patient to receive the correct dose of active ingredient.
The development plan usually involves plotting the progress of the formulation by regular reference to the dissolution of the products using either Type I or II apparatus.
At R5 we are able to manufacture extremely small batches (a few grams) to examine the performance of excipients in either tablet or capsule formulations. We can also examine the effect of coatings on tablets (and capsules) at small scale. We have a wide range of equipment up to 100,000 units per hour.
We have an enormous selection of tooling to enable us to quickly evaluate changes in formulations without waiting for new tooling to be manufactured. However if larger sets are required we can acquire these quickly from I Holland & Co who are conveniently located just a few minutes from R5.
